What is The Agoras?
The Agoras is a student-led initiative built around a simple idea: students should be part of the real economy, not just preparing for it.
We work directly with local businesses to understand how they operate, what challenges they’re dealing with, and how they’re reaching younger audiences. At the same time, we offer support in areas like social media, design, and outreach.
Everything we do is grounded in real conversations and real experiences, not assumptions.
Mission
We believe there’s a gap between businesses and the next generation. The Agoras exists to close that gap by putting students in direct conversation with business owners, creating a space where both sides learn from each other.
How we work with businesses
We keep things simple and respectful of your time.
1. Conversation
We start by listening. We ask about your business, your goals, and what’s been working or not.
2. Support
Our ambassadors step in where they can, whether that’s improving your social media, helping with design, or bringing a fresh perspective.
3. Research
We document what we’re seeing across businesses to better understand patterns and challenges.
4. Insight
Those patterns are turned into reports that reflect what’s actually happening locally.
For local business owners
We’re not here to sell you anything. We’re here to learn from you and, where possible, help.
- Support with social media and design
- A direct connection to how students see and engage with brands
- Recognition as a community youth endorser
- Inclusion in a broader effort to better understand local business challenges
For student ambassadors
This is not a typical club.
You’ll be working directly with real businesses, having real conversations, and contributing to something that has actual impact.
- Experience you can’t get in a classroom
- Exposure to how businesses actually operate
- The ability to contribute to real research and outcomes
What we’re learning
As we work with businesses, we begin to see patterns. What’s working, what isn’t, and where businesses are struggling.
We compile these into reports that reflect what’s actually happening at a local level, especially when it comes to engaging younger audiences.
